	Affixing a Mezuzah to the doorposts The Mezuzah contains portions of the Torah which assure us of Divine protection. It must be hand-written by a qualified scribe on parchment from a kosher animal. The Mezuza is to be located on the top third of the doorposts of all rooms within our homes and on all of our gates. It is proper to position the mezuza on the right doorpost as one enters the room. Sepharadim place the mezuza straight as required by Shulchan Aruch. Ashkenazim have the custom of placing it an angle. When placing the mezuza at an angle it's top must be inclined towards the room that one is entering.
